Starting in February 2006, I decided to try an experiment by marketing some of my products through multiple online forums. It didn’t take me long to realize that there's gold to be mined in forums. Products that had previously been selling only a few copies a quarter were suddenly selling very well. I started giggling when I would wake up in the morning to see the new sales notifications in my email. This seemed way too easy. Here's an actual sample of my PayPal data (the buyers' names have been blurred to protect their identities):
Why does forum marketing work? Forums are comprised of highly targeted and motivated buyers. Forums are usually organized and structured around niches such as Internet marketing, web design, and search engine optimization. All you need to start making money is a product or service that is appropriate for that niche and priced very attractively. Here's a summary of my actual revenue numbers for the various products I field tested between February through May 2006. My simple forum marketing experiment netted me nearly $2,700.00 over four months just by casually marketing within the forums in a fashion consistent with their advertising policies.
If I were to multiply my efforts to dozens of forums -- and I have every intention of doing so -- I will net multiples of this revenue in the future without a great deal of effort. But I had a problem. As the cash started to flow I had trouble understanding where all of my sales were coming from. As a marketer, I had a million questions: "Which forum promotions were pulling the best?""Which product promotions were most effective?""What was the duration of each campaign?""Who purchased which products?""Who were my best customers?"I struggled using multiple tools to analyze my Clickbank and PayPal sales, and I eventually created the world’s most complicated Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, but at the end of the day, none of these tools or combination of tools was doing the job. I was spending more time tracking all of the details instead of marketing and selling my products through the forums. There had to be a better way. I yearned for a highly automated tool that could download my sales information across platforms and affiliate tracking systems. I tried to design this super system, but in the end realized it was a pipe dream. No, what I needed was something that would be more practical. Something that would answer my questions and help me to better focus my time and marketing efforts. I didn't need rocket science. I needed something like Quicken to enter my sales data and analyze my productivity. And that’s why I created Forum Marketing Manager -- a powerful new relational database and reporting system that lets you take charge of your forum promotional efforts the same way Quicken allows you to take charge of your finances. Nothing could be easier. Here’s What Forum Marketing Manager DoesThe Forum Manager
The Forum Manager comes with a database of over 100 forums including:
Now you can instantly find the most appropriate forums to market your products and services at the click of a button. If you are
wondering whether forum marketing works I can assure you that two of
my major sites were promoted with no advertising other than forum
signatures. |
Not really. I looked for a tool to do everything I wanted and could not find it anywhere. One company called Rebranded Software sells a product called Forum Promotion Suite which some marketers distribute through a reseller agreement. Forum Promotion Suite has some good, basic features, but in my opinion, it is not as powerful or as useful as Forum Marketing Manager.
Forum Marketing Manager software was written from the ground up to provide you with the best business and marketing tools available for managing your forum promotional campaigns. If you liked my other ground-breaking products, Table Genie and Rumble Pop, then you will like this one because it is written by the same developer.
Forum Marketing Manager was built to support my own forum marketing activities, and is based upon my 20+ years of marketing experience in traditional, broadband and cable television.
